The climate challenge
Nepal faces a daunting climate challenge. The country must reduce its global greenhouse gas emissions while safeguarding its economy and population from the growing risks of climate extremes. At the same time, Nepal is working to raise living standards across its diverse and vulnerable communities.
Despite increased momentum for collective action on climate issues, the financial resources available fall far short of what Nepal needs to effectively address these challenges.
Philanthropic capital can play a key role in Nepal’s climate efforts by shaping priorities, supporting innovative initiatives, and helping unlock and reduce the risks for both public and private climate investments.
